A stroll down Ribarska ulica (Fisherman's Street) begins at the waterfront and curves along the bay to the pine-fringed pebbly beach and Church of St. Mary of the Pirates. It is Komiza's finest pedestrian walkway, lined with honey-coloured limestone houses and humble stone dwellings. The scent of roses, lilacs and lemon trees wafts from overhead gardens, as the street winds past tiny cobblestone alleyways descending to the sea in a burst of unexpected sunlight. Evenings come to life here in the summer as restaurants spread their tables along the twinkling beachfront and people come to dine, many of them disembarking from sailboats and yachts anchored in the bay. Villa Nonna, restored in 2003, is a typical stone townhouse, 5 minutes from the waterfront on Ribarska Ulica. The apartments feature bright, spacious interiors, hardwood floors, exposed stone walls and light contemporary furniture. Each apartment has a small kitchen nook with cooker and refrigerator. The bathrooms are tiled and outfitted with shower units and hair dryers. The larger apartment (a one-bedroom) has a balcony overlooking the mountains for catching the morning sunshine.
