There are fifty four coves and bays on the island of Vis. The most stunning are located on its southern coast where finger-like fjords cut deep into the corrugated limestone cliffs. Many have secluded sandy beaches. Others are wild and rocky. Milna Bay, 10 km from Vis Town, looks out over the open sea, towards an archipelago of rocks, reefs and emerald islets. Milna Bay House sits on the rocks above the bay. A lush carpet of Mediterranean greenery surrounds the property - palms, oleander, cedar, pine and grape vines. The apartments have stunning sea views, private terraces and entries. From the house, paths lead down to the water where you can swim from the rocks. There are also two sandy beaches within walking distance. The house has a separate barbecue area - a traditional stone hearth stocked with charcoal and firewood and a covered patio. The owners, who live in the house's lower level, have devoted much attention to creating a peaceful and private environment for their guests. Two apartments are located on the ground floor, both with their own separate patios and gardens. The two upper- level apartments have large covered terraces off of the living rooms. The furnishings are simple and homey in an eclectic, 'shabby-chic' kind of way - sturdy wooden chairs and tables, old fashioned headboards and nightstands, colorful tiles and painted cupboards.
Milna Bay is near to some of the island's best rural tavernas and winemakers. The central valley of Plisko Polje - famous for its lush vineyards, rustic hamlets and traditional island cuisine - is practically on your doorstep.Markets, shops, bakeries and restaurants can all be found in Komiza and Vis Town.
