Skrivena Luka - Hidden Bay - is all its name implies. Shaped like an amphora, it is surrounded by an arid landscape of rock and sparse vegetation, fringed in pine and Mediterranean oak, and sheltered at its southern end by a headland that reaches deep into the open sea. The clear, unruffled surface of its water acts as a reflection pool of light and color, giving the bay its characteristic luminescence.
Villa Klara sits at the northen end of Skrivena Luka, a few metres from the water's edge, with splendid views of the lighthouse and bay. The two-storey, white stucco villa is owned by a retired couple from Split who live quietly on the ground floor. Above them, are four self-catering apartments - two on the first floor and two on the second floor. All of the apartments have their own terraces and private entrances, and all have gorgeous, unobstructed sea views. The apartments are well-designed and tastefully furnished with modern, well-equipped kitchens and bathrooms. The villa has its own boat mooring and area for sunbathing. Your hosts are interesting, educated people, very hospitable and gracious, and a wonderful source of information on everything having to do with Lastovo since they were both born and raised here. The house is 17 km from Ubli harbour and 7 from the main settlement of Lastovo Town where you can find shops, market, tourist bureau, post office, cafés and a few small restaurants. A lovely taverna - within walking distance - on the western side of the bay offers local specialties served on a terrace at the water's edge.
N.B. Because of Lastovo's remote location, the ferry from Split will take cca. 4 hrs.
