The Villa Pattiera is a cultural and historical landmark as it was here in 1890 that the opera singer, Tino Pattiera, was born. While his career was forged in some of the greatest opera houses in Europe - he was first tenor of the Royal Saxon Court Opera in Dresden and a member of the Berlin State Opera - Pattiera regularly returned to his villa in Cavtat and spent the last years of his life here. Every year in June, Dubrovnik celebrates some of the world’s finest operatic masterpieces during its International Festival of Operatic Arias ‘Hommage Tino Pattiera.
